Establishment and History
Standard Research Institute (SRI), has been established by the amendment of article 2 of the revised regulations of Iranian national standards laws dated 23.03.1999. The SRI, a related body of the Institute of Standards & Industrial Research in Iran (ISIRI), is formed to carry out research and development works in the fields of science, technology and medical technology. Following the changes in structure of ISIR and according to the Fifth Five-Year Development Plan of Iran and the article 3 of the statute, SRI has got administrative and financial autonomy in 1385.

Vision
To bridge the gap between scientific researches and marketable products or services through converting scientific findings to standards and formulating based-on-research standards and to enhance the customer confidence and global competitiveness of Iran.

Mission
As the most important research centre in standardisation, we:
Develop standards and standardization to enhance quality of life and meet the need of society in the areas of health, welfare, safety, food security and environment. 
Efficiently deliver customized research and technological consultation to industries and government, and support inclusive growth through innovations. 
Develop national standards based on scientific and technical research and study in the domain of standardization, and collaborate with international standards organizations in preparing international standards.
Provide training courses, seminars and conferences for QC managements working in industries and other concerned bodies relevant to standardization, quality, testing, and measuring and calibration activities.
